Very crazy rich asians vibe/decor, food was good but a bit pricey for what it was. Service is quick, most orders come out quite fast. Golden egg mapo tofu was different and yummy.
We finally got to try this place after 2 failed attempts since they open! It was a busy Friday evening and our group of 8 lucked out with a last min spot opened up. The service was attentive and the food was absolutely delicious! Really glad we have another decent Chinese restaurant in the LIC neighborhood. I will definitely be back again.
Holy cow! My wife and I ate here for the first time and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and appreciated the professional and courteous service. This was a gateway experience for us as we never had authentic Hunan/Szechuan cuisine. It was a very tasteful one. We ordered the wings which were just right with the heat, spice and crisp. The soup dumplings were delicious and had subtle but present flavors and meat texture was on point. For dinner we had the spicy crispy chicken and a mixed dry pot filled with meats and veggies of our choice but with the chef's art and affinity of spice, heat and flavor complement. The environment itself was pretty cool and classy. Ample seating and space with the decor really calling back the 70s. The restaurant serviced incredible food in a memorable experience. We will be back with friends and families.
Loved their cocktails and the crabmeat soup dumplings!! I'd definitely come back for those! The Mongolian lamb and bamboo pork were also good. The decor has a nice vibe to it and the staff was polite. My partner told me after we attended that he reminded the staff twice (online and in person) if they could bring out shots to surprise me for a special occasion. They told him they would give us free shots and then didn't give them to us while we were there or finishing to pay. Maybe the staff was preoccupied but my partner felt confused about them saying they would do it and not following through.
Excellent service and food! Ginger scallion fish was bomb. Staff was attentive, will definitely come back again
This is a spacious, beautiful restaurant in LIC. Living in Manhattan, I rarely see such a large open space for a Chinese restaurant. The vibes were great and my friend and I had a nice meal here for dinner recently. Both the food and the cocktails were overall a hit. Everything was beautifully presented and the food was authentic and flavorful. We tried an assortment of things including the double cooked pork, spiced chicken, and string beans. Keep in mind that when they mean spicy, it really is gonna be spicy. All of the servers and workers were very attentive and pleasant. If I'm ever back in LIC, I would definitely go back.
Red Sorghum is an excellent Szechuan restaurant in LIC with great food and cocktails. We got the Forbidden Romance and Birds Nest cocktails which were both very good (one was a fruity tequila drink with cheese foam and the other a clarified yuzu cocktail). For two we got the mouthwatering chicken, chairman's braised pork, and changsha spiced chicken. The two standouts were definitely the braised pork and changsha spiced chicken. The braised pork was so flavorful, fatty and soft, and had quail eggs. The spiced chicken was one of the best Szechuan fried chickens I've had and I have never had one with pineapple before. The mouthwatering chicken was good but probably wouldn't get again because of all the bones. Red Sorghum is a good atmosphere for both drinking and eating and the service is quick and attentive. I will probably be returning soon!
The bartender is very professional and the service is perfect! I hope I can book a seat at the bar next time, the environment there looks very nice
